Privacy at IPWander

IPWander is built to keep the lookup flow simple. This notice explains what is technically processed when you use the service.

IP lookup requests

When you request an IP lookup, the IP address you entered is sent from the IPWander server to proxycheck.io so the requested network, location and detection data can be returned. IPWander uses the server-side API so the private API key is never exposed in your browser.

Short-lived server cache

To reduce repeated API queries and improve performance, lookup results may be cached on the IPWander server for a short period. The default deployment included with IPWander uses a 15-minute cache. The cache is not publicly browsable.

Server logs

Like most web hosting environments, the hosting provider may keep standard request logs containing information such as visitor IP address, requested URL, browser user agent and timestamps for security and operational purposes. Retention is controlled by the hosting environment unless otherwise configured.

Third-party resources

The interface may load Poppins from Google Fonts, icons through the Reicon CDN, flag images from FlagCDN, and map resources from OpenFreeMap/MapLibre. Your browser can communicate directly with those services when loading those resources. Their own privacy terms apply to that traffic.

No precise-location claim

The geographic information shown for a searched IP is an estimate derived from network data. It is not GPS data and should not be treated as the precise location of a person or device.
